Total Drama Island is the first season of Total Drama. It premiered on Cartoon Network on June 5, 2008 and finished its run on December 18, 2008. Later, a new seires called "total drama rama" in 2019 was a revive, except it featured the island goers as toddlers in a daycare.
Overview
This season involves twenty-two contestants of the age of sixteen, who have signed up to be in a reality show on an island called Camp Wawanakwa. The teens are divided up into teams to participate in challenges. This season, the teams are the Screaming Gophers and the Killer Bass. The losing team each episode would vote off a teammate, to walk the Dock of Shame and board the Boat of Losers, which officially eliminates them from the competition.
The teams dissolve fourteen episodes in, although the elimination process would continue with various individuals being saved from elimination through invincibility, rather than the entire team. The season concludes with a final challenge, which would result in Owen being the first winner of the series.
