The Magic Roundabout is an English-language children's television programme that ran from 1965 to 1977. It used the footage of the French stop motion animation show Le Manège enchanté, but with completely different scripts and characters. The show took place in a woodsy garden area with a carousel, inhabited by eccentric talking animals and magical creatures. Each episode (5 minutes each) was basically an everyday adventure with a touch of magic and surrealism.
During 1998/99, Cartoon Network in the UK aired the show on late nights, the show was also aired on it's sister channel, Boomerang. These airings mainly used episodes from the 1974 series, which have been re-narrated by Jimmy Hibbert, though some episodes from the Nigel Planer dub that was aired on Channel 4 where also aired as well.
