The Gary Coleman Show is an animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions that originally aired on NBC during the 1982-1983 season. Thirteen episodes were produced and each consisted of two seperate 11-minute segments.

From the mid 1980s until the 1990s, reruns of the series (including Casey Kasem's announcing for the series) were "on board" the USA Cartoon Express. Afterwards, the series aired on Cartoon Network from 1992 to 2000, however Casey Kasem's announcing for the series was not included in the Cartoon Network broadcast versions. The series then moved to Boomerang in 2000.

The series returned to Cartoon Network on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at 5AM ET/PT as part of Adult Swim and aired on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.

Overview[]

The series featured Gary Coleman as the voice of Andy LeBeau, an apprentice angel, who was dispatched back to Earth to earn his wings by helping others. The half-hour series was based on Coleman's 1982 made-for-TV movie The Kid with the Broken Halo. In each episode, Andy was dispatched to help a child in need and resolve his problem. The antagonist in each episode was Hornswoggle, a well-dressed demon with purple skin, black hair and a goatee who tried to make Andy's mission more difficult, usually by getting him to make the wrong choice. It was up to Andy to correct whatever mistakes he made and foil Hornswoggle's plans.

Andy was supervised by Angelica, a mature red-haired female angel who was neither seen nor heard by mortals. She refused to accept the existence of Hornswoggle, as he tried to trick Andy into making bad choices or otherwise interfere with Andy's mission.
