Over the Garden Wall is a Cartoon Network miniseries based on the short "Tome of The Unknown", which hails from Cartoon Network Studios’ shorts program. Both the miniseries and short were created by Patrick McHale, who is known for his work on The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Adventure Time. Over the Garden Wall premiered from November 3rd to 7th, 2014.
This was the last Cartoon Network Original Series to be greenlit by the former president of Cartoon Network Stuart Snyder and the first one to premiere under the tenure of the succeeding president Christina Miller.
In October 2023, Cartoon Network aired reruns of the show, making it the first time since 2014 that episodes of the show were airing.
