MultiVersus was a free-to-play crossover fighting game developed by Player First Games, and published and distributed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game features various characters within the Warner Bros. catalog. The early access and open beta versions of the game were released from July 19, 2022 to June 25, 2023. The full game launch would then be released on May 28, 2024. On January 31, 2025, it was announced that it would be delisting the game and shutting down the servers on May 30, 2025, however it said it that players will able to play offline (via option to create a local save) after the date, marking Season 5 the final season.
On May 30th, 2025, the servers officially closed, remaining offline modes playable.
Gameplay[]
MultiVersus is a platform fighter that uses similar gameplay to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series. Players battle on different stages and attempt to knock their opponents outside the boundaries of the arena, with characters being knocked further the more damage they take. The game is primarily played in a 2-vs-2 format, though 1-vs-1 and free-for-all options are also available.
