Gross Girls was a cancelled American animated comedy television series created by Daniela Hamilton and Scott Yacyshyn. The series was produced by Adam and Naomi Scott. The series was announced at the 2021 Cartoon Network Upfront[1]. Despite this, no further updates were revealed in the years following its announcement, implying it was scrapped as a result of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger and subsequent leadership changes at Cartoon Network. It is also most likely because Cartoon Network deemed the series as too inappropriate for its target demographic as concept art for it showed characters throwing menstrual products at the main characters.[2]
Plot[]
The series was stated to be a "smart, sophisticated animated comedy about Chuck and Zoey, two best friends trying to survive middle school without losing any of their trademark stinky, hairy, mad science-y grossness. In spite of jerky brothers, judgey classmates, and “common decency,” these two girls boost each other up and encourage each other to be 100% themselves. Because with the right best friend, everything is an adventure…even puberty." [1]
