Gremlins is an American animated comedy fantasy streaming television series and serves as a prequel to the 1984 film Gremlins and its 1990 sequel The New Batch. The first season titled Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai premiered on May 23, 2023 in the United States on Max. [1]
It was the first Cartoon Network series, as well as the first animated production to release alongside the new streaming service.
In February 2021, the show was renewed for a second season, titled Gremlins: The Wild Batch, and premiered on October 3, 2024.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
Synopsis[]
The series focuses on how naïve 10-year-old Sam Wing met the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam, and Gizmo, they take a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering, and sometimes battling, colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. On their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.
In the second season, Sam, Gizmo, Elle and Grandpa Wing go to San Francisco, California.
