Foe Paws was a short created by Chris Savino (showrunner for the last two seasons of Dexter's Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls, producer and director of Johnny Test season one, and creator of Nickelodeon's The Loud House) and produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for the Cartoon Network. The short premiered on Cartoon Cartoon Fridays on July 7, 2000 as one of ten contenders for Cartoon Network's Big Pick, the winner of which would become the next Cartoon Cartoon. The short did not win The Big Pick, however it was picked up by Disney to become a full-length series.

Trivia[]
- Chris Savino's friends and coworkers at Hanna-Barbera, Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Sym-Bionic Titan) and Craig McCracken (creator of The Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Wander Over Yonder, and Kid Cosmic), were involved in the production of Foe Paws.

- The character Vivian appears as a playable character in Cartoon Cartoon Summer Resort - Episode 3: "Vivian Vs. The Volcano."
- Mama Mia bears a resemblance to the Loud House characters Rosa Casagrande and Aunt Ruth.
- Two versions of Foe Paws exist. One version includes a film overlay that mimics the look of old newsprint (a stylistic choice that would become very common in Chris Savino's work, such as The Loud House and Bigfoot & Gray On The Run), however this version is extremely rare, and was only seen on its July 7, 2000 broadcast. The other, more common version lacks this newsprint overlay.
