Aquaman: King of Atlantis is an American animated three-part web television miniseries based on the DC Comics character of the same name and a standalone continuation of the film of the same name. The miniseries premiered on October 14, 2021 in the United States on HBO Max.[1] The miniseries aired as a feature-length film on Cartoon Network on May 14, 2022.[2] The film version was released on DVD on June 21, 2022.[3][4]
The miniseries was removed from HBO Max in August 2022.[5]
Synopsis[]
The miniseries begins with Aquaman's first day on the job as the new king of Atlantis… and he’s got a lot of catching up to do. Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up – Vulko, the scholar, and Mera, the water controlling warrior-princess. Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman is going to have to rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects, and to himself, that he’s the right man for the trident!
