Academy Award Toons was a 2-hour academy award themed marathon that aired on Cartoon Network on Monday, March 25, 1996 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The first hour featured cartoons that have been nominated for academy awards and the second hour featured cartoons that have won academy awards. The two hours consisted of Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies, Tom and Jerry and Popeye the Sailor shorts.[1]
A similar marathon titled the Academy Award Special aired the following year on March 23, 1997.
